There is a disturbing history of Black people being undercounted in the Census. And those who work hard to suppress the voices and the votes of our communities are also working hard to keep us from participating in the census. Approximately 6.5 percent of young Black and Hispanic children were not counted in the 2010 Census. That’s nearly twice the undercount rate for young white children.
